Lampre-MERIDA notches one of their best TTT placings ever in 2013 Tour de France

An almost perfect team time trial for LAMPRE-MERIDA. The eight place obtained in the 4th stage of Tour de France (25 km in Nice) is one of the best performances ever by Guiseppe Saronni’s team in a team time trial.

The performance has even more value thanks to the limited gap to the winning team  of Orica-Greenedge (25″) and considering the competitive teams that got a worse result than LAMPRE-MERIDA.

After the team time trial, three Lampre cyclists are in the upper part of the overall classification: Cunego (25th), Niemiec (26th) and Serpa (27th), at 25″ to the new leader Gerrans.

“I’m very happy for today terrific performance: we all were great,” Cunego commented. “It was not so simple for us to keep a high speed on the flat course, but we did it in a perfect way, thanks to a very good team spirit. In addition, Merida bikes demonstrare once again to be amazing in their performance. It’s also important to point out the care of the team about the details: as an example, today we could use during warm up the jersey that Champion System provided us, they were chilled by a machine and they helped us to not to suffer the heat.”
