Richmond 2015 Announces ‘The Road to Richmond’

Richmond 2015, the organizing committee for the 2015 UCI Road World Championships, today introduces “The Road to Richmond,” a monthly online broadcast featuring current and former cyclists. These interactive discussions – led by host Neal Rogers, editor of VeloNews – will provide an insiders’ view on racing, training, travel and the lifestyle associated with professional cycling.

The Road to Richmond will officially premiere with two special editions from the 2013 UCI Road World Championships in Florence, Italy.

The first broadcast, on Thursday, September 26 at 8 p.m. EDT, will feature the Elite U.S. Women’s team, which includes Mara Abbott (Boulder, Colo./Exergy TWENTY16), Megan Guarnier (Mountain View, Calif./Rabobank-Liv-Giant), Kristin McGrath (Boise, Idaho/Exergy TWENTY16), Shelley Olds (Gilroy, Calif./Team TIBCO-To the Top), Carmen Small (Durango, Colo./Specialized-lululemon), Evelyn Stevens (Dennis, Mass./Specialized-lululemon) and Jade Wilcoxson (Talent, Ore./Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies.

The second broadcast, on Friday, September 27 at 8 p.m. EDT, will feature the Elite U.S. Men’s team, which includes Chris Horner (San Diego, Calif./Team RadioShack Leopard Trek),Taylor Phinney (Boulder, Colo./BMC Racing Team), Alex Howes (Boulder, Colo./Garmin-Sharp), Freddie Rodriguez (Berkeley, Calif./Jelly Belly Cycling), Peter Stetina (Santa Rosa, Calif/Garmin-Sharp), Andrew Talansky (Napa, Calif./Garmin-Sharp) and Tejay van Garderen (Boulder, Colo./BMC Racing Team).

A “prologue” edition of the Road to Richmond, previewing the 2013 World Championships and the just announced US men’s and women’s teams will take place today, Thursday, September 5 at 3 p.m. EDT. To watch live simply point your browser to our Google+ page.
