RockyMounts offers assistance to Boulder residents affected by flooding

  • Ron

RockyMounts is located in central Boulder and although most of Boulder and surrounding areas are flooding, RM is untouched by this massive amount of water.

Doors will be open during their normal business hours (Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m.) offering help to anyone who
might be in need. The RockyMounts Sprinter and crew are helping victims of flood to relocate their belongings and will continue to do so while Boulder begins cleanup. RockyMounts would like to express their condolences to those who have been affected by the flood.

Widespread flooding that has already killed three Coloradans forced evacuations of thousands of residents Friday, as additional rainfall threatened already swollen rivers and creeks along a 150-mile stretch of the state’s Front Range.

About 15 miles north of Boulder, the Colorado National Guard began evacuating 2,000 residents of Lyons. In South Boulder County, 500 residents in Eldorado Springs were also under evacuation orders. Flooding also closed I-25, the state’s main north-south highway, north of Denver to the Wyoming border, among several roads blocked by rising waters. The National Weather Service forecast more rain over portions of Colorado Friday, with up to three inches or more falling in some areas. In Boulder, officials issued emergency alerts to 8,000 residents along normally tranquil Boulder Creek, urging them to seek shelter elsewhere or move to higher ground.
