The International Cycling Union (UCI) has extended its partnership contract with Santini Maglificio Sportivo for the production of its official jerseys.
Under the two-year partnership, Santini will provide the official UCI World Champion jerseys across all disciplines, as well as the World Cup leader jerseys for women’s road, track, mountain bike and cyclocross.
The Italian clothing production company also has exclusive rights to license replica UCI World Champion and World Cup leader jerseys as well as other products including bib shorts, gloves, socks, and raincoats.
The UCI and Santini will also continue working together to produce new designs: for example the UCI Women Road Cup saw the introduction of new women’s cut jerseys in 2013, which will be followed by new leader’s jerseys next season.
UCI President Pat McQuaid welcomed the extension of the longterm partnership with Santini Maglificio Sportivo: “The world’s top cyclists have been wearing Santini jerseys for many years and I am delighted that we will be continuing our excellent collaboration with such a top quality company. It is particularly fitting to be making this announcement just a few weeks before the UCI Road World Championships, which will be taking place in Santini’s own country.”
Mr Santini declares to be honoured to extend the partnership:” We’ve been sponsoring the UCI for 20 years and it feels natural for us to continue collaborating. I still get emotional though when I see a rider wearing the World Champion jersey with the SMS logo on the heart.”
