USA Cycling has announced the addition of three sponsors for the upcoming USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Championships that will take place Jan. 8-12 in Boulder, Colo. Noosa Finest Yoghurt, CycleOps and WD-40 BIKE have all been named as official sponsors of the national championship that features over 1,500 registrants competing over five days.
The three sponsors join USA Cycling National Event Sponsors Volkswagen, Gatorade, Shimano, Voler, Spy, Sierra Nevada and Bonk Breaker in support of the 2014 USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Championships.
The five days of exciting action culminate on Sunday, Jan. 12, when the elite riders contest their national championship races which will be streamed live on YouTube. The elite women’s race is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. MST and the elite men’s contest begins at 2:45 p.m. The winners of the two elite races, U23 men’s and juniors men’s 17-18 race would each receive an automatic nomination to the American contingent contesting the 2014 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Hoogerheide, Netherlands on Feb. 1-2. Registration for next month’s event in Boulder has already surpassed last year’s numbers with over 1,150 unique riders signed up.
“Cyclo-cross racing continues its rapid growth across the U.S. and we’re excited to bring the USA Cycling National Championships to Boulder,” said USA Cycling Chief Marketing Officer Rob Borland. “We have a great venue at the Valmont Bike Park, close to downtown Boulder and, thanks to the support of our sponsors and partners we’re looking forward to five days of great racing and a bike-festival atmosphere at the event. Some more mud and snow will make for perfect conditions.”
Colorado-based Noosa Finest Yoghurt will be on site in Boulder with samples of their Australian-style yoghurt for the competitors. The company takes its name from a picturesque town located on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia.
“Noosa Finest Yoghurt is a proud sponsor of the 2014 USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Championships,” said Koel Thomae, co-founder of Noosa Finest Yoghurt. “As cycling is an integral part of what makes the Colorado culture so special, we’re thrilled that Boulder is hosting this event in our backyard.”
CycleOps produces trainers, rollers and indoor cycles and will be the official sponsor of the USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Championships Warm Up Zone where the riders prepare for their races.
“The CycleOps Warm Up Zone was been a huge success the past two years in our hometown of Madison, Wisconsin, and bringing it to Boulder, Colorado, just makes a lot of sense” said Jesse Bartholomew, category director of CycleOps. “We know that a lot of racers will be traveling to Boulder and may not be able to bring their own trainer and we want them to be able to focus on their races, not worrying about finding a suitable place to warm up.”
WD-40 BIKE offers a whole new line of bike-specific products for cleaning, lubrication and protection and will be on-site providing free bike washes to all registered racers.
“WD-40 BIKE is proud to support USA Cycling and the Cyclo-cross National Championships,” said Graham Milner, managing partner of WD-40 BIKE. “Cross has been a part of our DNA from the very beginning, and we see it as a perfect venue to illustrate how WD-40 BIKE products perform at the highest levels of competition. We’re also pleased to provide the services of our professional tech support team to all participants over the course of this event.”
