The Movistar Team will ride on Canyon bikes as of 2014, one of the most prestigious brands in the world offering their models to the telephone squad. The riders are already training on the German firm’s machines before their debut at the Tour Down Under (Australia) and the Tour de San Luis (Argentina), the first two stops of a long schedule for the squad managed by Eusebio Unzué.
Canyon will be bringing the Movistar Team their best materials after intense development on the R&D base of their headqaurters in Koblenz, always in permanent contact with the squad’s members to achieve the best efficiency on their bikes. In 2014, the Movistar Team will use three of the high-end models from Canyon. For road races, riders will be able to choose between two machines: the Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 TEAM MOV or the Aeroad CF 9.0 TEAM MOV, while the model for time trials will be the Speedmax CF 9.0 TEAM MOV. All of them are customised with the team’s corporative colours.
Canyon’s founder and CEO Roman Arnold looks forward to a long and successful partnership: “Our philosophy at Canyon is simple: we want to build the best bike in the world. We are therefore extremely proud that in 2014 we are supplying the Spanish based Movistar Team with fully branded models from the Canyon range. Eusebio Unzué’s Movistar Team is the perfect match for us, they had an outstanding year in 2013. Here at Canyon, we cannot wait for the 2014 season to get underway and we are absolutely thrilled that these world-class athletes will be on the start line riding our very best bikes.”
