Scosche is excited to unveil RHYTHM SMART +, an Innovations Award Honoree today at the 2014 International CES. The armband heart monitor optically measures blood flow and movement to calculate heart rate and calories burned more accurately than conventional heart rate monitors.
The dual mode wireless configuration includes both Bluetooth Smart and ANT + capabilities, allowing it to pair with smartphones, sport watches and exercise equipment from up to 100 ft. away. RHYTHM SMART + is compatible with the most popular fitness apps including RunKeeper, Map My Fitness, Strava and all other apps that support Bluetooth Smart heart rate monitors. With the onboard memory users can workout in freeRUN mode without the need to carry their device with them.
“RHYTHM SMART + marks a major step forward in the evolution of our line fitness trackers,” said Kas Alves Executive Vice President Scosche Industries. “A smaller footprint, unrivaled biometric data accuracy and compatibility with the most popular health and fitness app available create a complete offering.”
The low-profile activity tracker is made from a silicone and polycarbonate hybrid and is comfortably fastened to the forearm just below the elbow with a breathable neoprene arm-strap. IP67 waterproof construction protects RHYTHM SMART + from sweat or rain and allows the monitor to even be submerged up to 1 meter deep. Users can adjust volume and control tracks with the touch of a button without interrupting their workout to take out their phone. The monitor syncs to the user’s iOS or Android device and works with the free RHYTHM app to track, store and share workout data.
The RHYTHM SMART+ integrates Valencell, Inc.’s PerformTek® sensor technology which continuously measures heart rate to provide a highly accurate and consistent reading during virtually any exercise in nearly any physical environment. PerformTek sensor technology is clinically validated by leading research institutions and proven through extensive consumer testing.
