Vanendert Follow Up

Tests at the hospital of Herentals have shown that Jelle Vanendert has incurred a radial head fracture in a crash in the first stage of the Tour de San Luis, that’s a small fracture in the elbow. Despite this injury he did start all other stages, before abandoning in the final one. Since the fracture didn’t shift, surgery isn’t needed.

The fracture implies a partial inactivity of 10 days and Vanendert has to wear an elbow brace that period, but he can keep up his condition by training on the rolls. If he gets the all-clear after a new visit to the doctor he can resume the normal training. The four days race Challenge Mallorca which starts on February 9 will probably come too soon; Vanendert is likely to start again at the Ruta del Sol on February 19.
