Slidepad Technologies and Jamis Bicycles® have announced that the 2014 Jamis Hudson Sport, Sport Deluxe and Sport SX models featuring Slidepad’s revolutionary single-lever brake system, are now available at Jamis dealers throughout North America.
Slidepad provides recreational cyclists with a single-lever braking system that uses the force of the rear wheel to intelligently modulate the front brake. The system makes riding safer and easier by alleviating the risk of front wheel lockup accidents caused by rider error, while simplifying the user experience making cycling even more enjoyable.
“Our job is to make riding fun,” said Greg Webber, Vice-President of Product Development at Jamis Bicycles. “Simplifying bicycle controls and operation is one of the best ways to guarantee grins. We specified Slidepad’s braking system for the second year on the Hudson because it accomplishes just that: it’s simpler to operate than standard two lever braking systems while offering improved braking performance for a safer, more controlled, more fun ride.”
“We are continuing to see growth and adoption by OE’s who have specified Slidepad on a number of the popular city and recreational bike models for the 2014,” said Slidepad’s Brian Riley. “For the second year now, the Jamis Hudson continues to demonstrate the benefits of Slidepad’s easy-to-use and efficient braking system which improves the overall cycling experience for casual and inexperienced riders.”
The Hudson Sport models features the Slidepad braking system with ProMax forged alloy direct pull brakes and Tektro alloy comfort lever; a seven-speed Shimano twist-shifting single chain ring drivetrain is available on the Sport and Sport SX and the Nexus 5-speed internal geared hub upgrade on the Sport Deluxe. The Hudson Sport’s lightweight aluminum frame is available in six sizes, including two step-through. It comes with Jamis Sport Comfort tires with whitewalls or skinwalls, and the Jamis Comfort Sport seat with memory foam and synthetic suede top, and a near all-alloy parts reducing weight, adding value and is rust proof. The Sport SX is equipped with the Suntour XC60 front fork. The Sport Deluxe (MSRP $620), The Sport SX (MSRP $510) and The Sport (MSRP $480).
