2013 ITU Triathlon World Champion Non Stanford chooses SRAM RED 22

  • Ron

Non Stanford already has a solid and impressive resume on the ITU Triathlon scene. She is the first woman triathlete to win the Elite ITU Triathlon World Championships just a year after claiming the U23 title. She stepped up from the U23 to the Elite category with ease. She also made a very successful transition from track & field to triathlon. Before racing triathlons Non was focused on running with great results and a promising career ahead of her. Due to a collection of injuries that kept her off the track Stanford added swimming and running to her fitness regimen. Obviously it’s paid off.

The Welsh triathlete is known for being a hard worker and two years ago she moved to Leeds, joining the Brownlee brothers’ training group. This year Non has chosen the best in-class groupset, SRAM RED 22 and the most aero and stable wheels, Zipp Firecrest.

In 2014 Non will be focused on her ITU world Championship title and winning the Commmonwealth Games, which take place in Glasgow, UK, July 24-26. Long term she has her sights set on the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

SRAM’s European Road Sports Marketing Manager Jason Phillips says “SRAM is proud to welcome Non Stanford onto our Global Tri program. Non is a fantastic athlete and as her results already show is capable of winning anything in the sport of Triathlon. We are really looking forward to Non racing on SRAM RED 22 and Zipp wheels.”
