Tejay van Garderen of the BMC Racing Team begins defense of his USA Pro Challenge title Monday in his adopted hometown of Aspen, fresh off a fifth-place finish at the Tour de France last month.
Success In Utah Last Week
Among those joining van Garderen on the roster are Ben Hermans, fourth-place finisher at the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah last week, and past Swiss national road champion Michael Schär, who soloed to win one of three stages in Utah for the BMC Racing Team. The seven-day race includes a 16.1-kilometer time trial in Vail – which van Garderen won last year – and ends in Denver.
