pan-am-cx-jersey-2014Organizers of the upcoming Pan-American Cyclocross Championships unveiled the 2014 jersey design today. The championship jersey will be awarded to the race winners on Sunday November 2, 2014.

The site of the Pan-American Cyclocross Championships is Devou Park in Covington, KY. The park, located just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, has hosted 6 UCI events and is considered one of the most demanding on the U.S. circuit.

The 2014 Pan-American Cyclocross Championships is the first continental championships to be held for this cycling discipline. The competition is open to racers from across The Americas spanning Canada to Argentina as well as the Caribbean nations. 43 nations make up the Pan-American Cycling Confederation.

The Pan-Am Championships are held for Elite Women, Women Youth (junior and under 23 years), Men (under 23 years) and Junior Men (17-17 years). A separate non-championship race is also scheduled for Elite Men (23 years and older).

The jersey is provided by event sponsor Craft, makers of cycling and sportswear and suppliers to multiple events and world-class teams. The winner of the championship is entitled to wear the jersey throughout the season in all cyclocross competitions.

Race Director Mitch Graham supervised the design of the 2014 jersey.  “This new course at Devou Park will fully push the skills and fitness of some of the world’s best cyclocross athletes,” said Graham. “We looked at previous Pan Am jerseys in other cycling disciplines, and wanted to create something distinctive and worthy of the winners.”

Graphic designer Paul Neff: “We designed the jersey to be traditional with a twist… to display the gravitas of a UCI Championship, but fashionable enough to be worn with pride by the winners.”

The Pan-American Cyclocross Championships are part of the Cincy3 Weekend of Cyclocross powered by Toyota. For additional details contact Mitch Graham mitch@biowheels.com.
