Oskar Blues Reeb Ranch to host Red Bull Dreamline

  • Ron

The 2014 Red Bull Dreamline BMX competition will take place at Oskar Blues REEB Ranch on October 11 in Henderson County, North Carolina, just down the road from Asheville and the Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard. The most talented riders in the world will push their limits on jumps designed by pro rider Anthony Napolitan and brought to life by master builder Adam Aloise (http://www.redbull.com/us/en/bike/events/1331651771892/red-bull-dreamline-2014).

All tickets for this event, open to the ticket-holding public on Saturday, October 11, were snagged within 24 hours of being released. However, make sure to follow @oskarblueswnc (#obreebranch, #reeBMX) and @redbullnc (#dreamline), and check out the Oskar Blues Brewery North Carolina Facebook page for VIP ticket giveaways over the next week.

The best 32 BMX dirt jumpers in the world will be competing at the largest Dreamline BMX course ever built, including pro Zak Earley, Oskar Blues REEB rider, who will ride his REEB BMX bike (#reeBMX).

Can’t find tickets? Red Bull Dreamline will air on Saturday, November 8, at 5 p.m. EST on NBC. Check local listings for your NBC station.

If you did score tickets, note there will be NO PARKING at the venue for spectators. Shuttles will be running round-trip from Oskar Blues Brewery at 342 Mountain Industrial Drive in Brevard starting at 10:30 a.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 11. You must show a copy of your Dreamline Eventbrite ticket to get on the shuttle.

Once at the Oskar Blues REEB Ranch, there will be locally-brewed Oskar Blues beer–the hop-forward Dale’s Pale Ale and the crisply refreshing Mama’s Little Yella Pils–for sale. Grub from the new-to-NC Oskar Blues CHUBurger Food Truck, served up by OB Head Chef Jason Rogers, will also be available.

There will be a killer line-up of live bands at the Official Dreamline After Parties at Oskar Blues Brewery both Friday and Saturday nights, including Packway Handle Band on October 10 and Too Slim and the Tail Draggers and Jarekus Singleton on October 11.

Cycling has always been a huge part of Oskar Blues’ culture and a large reason that soul-founder Dale Katechis chose Western North Carolina as the home for a second brewery.

The name REEB Ranch pays homage to REEB Cycles, Oskar Blues hand-made bike company based in ColoRADo. A stable of demo REEB mountain bikes and dirt jump rigs are available for rental at the REEB Ranch. “It’s important to us to keep that trail-side camaraderie in the community,” says Katechis. “We’ve been able to integrate our passions of the brewery, farm, restaurants and REEB Cycles into much of what we do, the Oskar Blues REEB Ranch continues that effort.”

The Oskar Blues REEB Ranch offers a ride-in, ride-out experience with direct Dupont State Park single-track access, pump track sessions, dirt jump progression lines and post ride beers alongside the swimming hole. On-site lodging includes a 1940’s cabin at the base of two 43-foot waterfalls and an apartment on the top floor of a venue-perfect barn. Tent camping is also available.
