In today’s cycling product news, Scott-3Rox partners with Louis Garneau, Linda Villumsen becomes ambassador for RevBox trainers and SRAM brings road tech to flat bar bikes.
Louis Garneau partners with Scott-3Rox
Louis Garneau has signed on to be the official clothing sponsor of the Scott-3Rox Mountain Bike Team.
The team, lead by veteran XC racer Geoff Kabush will be participating in major international races in the upcoming year with a special focus on preparing for the 2015 Pan Am Games that are to be held in Toronto.
“I’m really psyched to be working with Louis Garneau again. I’m always excited to be riding for the national team because LG gear is so nice, and I get to wear it all the time,” remarked Kabush.
In addition to Kabush, the team includes Derek Zandstra, Cameron Jette, Marc-Antoine Nadon, Mikaela Kofman, Teal Stetson-Lee and Erin Huck.
The team kicks off the 2015 season with a January training camp in California.
Linda Villumsen becomes brand ambassador for Revbox trainers
Commonwealth Games gold medallist Linda Villumsen is the new Brand Ambassador for the Revbox ERG, a stationary trainer that was launched early last year by Christchurch based European Sport Imports.
The 5 time world championship TT medallist used the Revbox in her build up to this year’s Glasgow Commonwealth Games, saying it helped improve her strength, pedalling efficiency and was ‘great to do specific training efforts.’
“The Revbox is an important training tool for me,” she says. “It’s compact, light, easy to transport and gives you as hard a work out as you could possibly need, it really comes into its own for strength training and is the best stationary trainer I have ever used, so I’m really happy to now be a brand ambassador for the Revbox.”
The Revbox has recently undergone some subtle improvements that have seen the 12 kilo unit lose over two kilos; it’s now suitable for 10 and 11 speed cassettes along with the option to fit a 12 millimetre through axle if required.
Philipp Schacht, Managing Director of European Sport Imports says the company was excited to have Linda on board as a Brand Ambassador. “She’s a world class athlete and gave us some valuable feedback while we were developed the prototypes; we are very happy to have her as part of the Revbox team.”
SRAM adds trigger shifters for flat bar road bikes
The new SRAM S-700 2X11* Trigger Shifters allow riders to benefit from the key technology and performance benefits of SRAM’s road componentry on the comfort of a flat-bar bike.
The S-700 Trigger Shifter set completes a SRAM Rival or Force 2X11 groupset for fitness bikes. This brings championship-level SRAM Road technologies to fitness riders.
Features coming from the road line include precise Exact-Actuation™ rear shifting and Yaw™ front shifting, while the Matchmaker clamp works with compatible brake levers for a less cluttered bar.
