Rudy Project recently released their next generation of unbreakable, photochromatic lenses, the ImpactX-2. The new lenses build off of the success of the original Impact-X line, and offer more options and improved performance.
The ImpactX-2 lenses will offer five different color choices, and are the first photochromatic lenses to automatically lighten and darken to a specific color, red, black, or brown. Each color choice has an option of High Dynamic Range Filter lesnes, which will offer even better clarity and visual accuracy. The transition is now 25% faster, with an increased Photochromic Range of up to 65% higher performance. This means they will go from light to dark faster, and offer a darker lens in full light. The ImpactX-2 will also activate in all natural light conditions, including things like windows and car windshileds that screen UV Rays. Temperature stability is also up by 20% allowing a wider range of temperatures that the lenses will activate in.
For those looking for prescription lenses, Rudy Project creates the lenses by digitally surfacing the back side of the lens for an accurate prescription from edge-to-edge. Rearers and no-line bifocals/trifocals are also available in the ImpactX-2 lenses.
The ImpactX-2 lens is currently available for the Agon, Genetyk, Guardyan, Magster, Noyz, ProFlow, Rydon, and Zyon. Replacement lenses are $104.99, and sunglasses with the ImpactX-2 lenses run from $249.00-$379.99, depending on lens and frame.
