Etixx – Quick-Step rider Guillaume Van Keirsbulck left Monica Zeikenhuis-Antwerpen today, after successful surgery performed by Dr. Geert Mahieu on a herniated disc at the level of L4 and L5 on the lumbar spine.
Guillaume will have to respect two weeks of rest, followed by rehab. He can normally resume training again after four weeks.
“It will take a while to heal from this surgery, but this operation was quite necessary as it was a really painful problem recently,” Van Keirsbulck said. “I decided together with team at that point to have the surgery. Of course I will lose some training as a result, but I know it was the right decision. My goal now is to come back so I can do a good final part of the season. I would like to thank the medical staff for their professionalism and kindness.”
