Nutcase Helmets, the Portland, Oregon-based designer of graphic, lifestyle sports helmets has opened a talent call for creative souls from around the globe to take part in Nutcase Unframed, the brand’s third annual initiative to create amazing, limited edition art helmets and support World Bicycle Relief.
Nutcase Unframed offers people from anywhere in the world a chance to submit ideas for Nutcase’s next limited edition collection of Unframed helmets. Chosen artists will collaborate with Nutcase on production line helmet designs for a cash prize of $500, and may also be offered to join Nutcase at the world’s two largest bike shows – Eurobike in Germany and Interbike in Las Vegas. At the shows, participants will create live art which will be auctioned off to benefit World Bicycle Relief, the organization that provides bicycles to people in need across the globe. Over the past two years Nutcase has received entries from artists as far flung as Columbia, the Philippines, Brazil, the U.S. and Europe.
“We started Unframed a couple of years for a few reasons,” says Michael Morrow, founder, Nutcase Helmets. “We were committed to raising money for the amazing work that World Bicycle Relief does but we wanted to do that it in a fun and nutty way. We’re known all over the world for our creative, graphic helmet art so we thought, why not find and showcase creativity from as many different countries as possible and turn that into art helmets that people can enjoy everywhere. We had no idea it would be such a runaway success.”
People wishing to submit a design for consideration by Nutcase judges have until November 30, 2015 and may simply download a template here:http://nutcasehelmets.com/
“This is our favorite time of year at Nutcase,” adds Morrow. “The entire submission process is a window into just how creative people all over the world really are. It’s awe inspiring to us.”
Like all Nutcase Gen 3 street helmets, Nutcase Unframed helmets feature the Nutcase spin dial system for a custom fit, the Fidlock® magnetic chin strap buckle; 360- degree reflectivity as well as 11-vent air cooling and removable visor for comfortable, all weather riding rain or shine.
