During a day out on the water or when miles off the grid, the last thing anyone wants to worry about is gear failure. All potential points of weakness in a wristwatch design were analyzed by REACTOR, maker of the worlds’ most durable and progressive sport watches, and engineered out of the new Meltdown 2.
The comfort and durability of the Meltdown 2 begins with a band the is unique to REACTOR. Nylon webbing is laser cut to size, wrapped around a stainless steel tube and sonic welded in place. Once the core of the band is assembled, it is placed in a mold and co-molded with a proprietary compound of silicon and natural rubber. The nylon webbing gives the band its incredible strength and the silicon compound prevents the nylon from absorbing moisture, odor and dirt. The end result is a band that outperforms all competitors.
This ultra-strong band is paired with a solid forged 316 stainless steel watchcase that has zero points of entry for dirt and water topped off with a screw down crown to help prevent leaks during rugged wear and tear. The Meltdown 2 was designed to be easier to read in low light situations with larger dial markings and a super intense, 8-layer Superluminova glow. It has a 43mm case, quartz movement, unidirectional timing bezel, and is depth tested to 200M.
The Meltdown 2 is built on the REACTOR DNA platform. REACTOR was designed from day one to be the best built performance sport watch. Every REACTOR has a solid forged 316L stainless steel or Titanium case and case back and all bracelets are solid link construction. Additionally, every REACTOR has solid screw bars for strength, free floating lugs for ultimate comfort, screw down crowns and a proprietary application of true Swiss Superluminova.
The Meltdown 2 is available in acid green, orange and carbon fiber dial colors with a black band. The Meltdown 2 has an MSRP of $300. For more information or to find a local retailer, visit their store locator page.
