POC and Intense started a collaboration in mid 2015, initially with the team using a selection of POC helmets, eyewear, protection and apparel. The first race of the World Cup season, in Lourdes, marks the real start of racing this year and our continued collaboration in 2016 looks to be as promising as ever. The new Intense team has been unveiled, with a host of immensely talented athletes and some seriously fast bikes.
World Cup success depends on many factors and the Intense team will again be riding with helmets, eyewear, protection and apparel from POC which has been rigorously tested and will naturally complement the team’s ability and ambitions.
Commenting on the collaboration, POC CEO and founder, Stefan Ytterborn, said – “Working with Intense, helping the riders achieve the highest level of performance on the World Cup circuit, is immensely rewarding and with the new team line up it’s a really exciting season ahead. We have used the feedback provided by the team to fine-tune our downhill racing range and we are particularly proud of our new Coron helmet and Resistance apparel which we really believe will be able to handle all the conditions in a World Cup season and support the team’s competitive goals.”
Intense Factory Team Manager, Bernat Guardia added ” This season we continue our collaboration with POC and we are hugely impressed with the level of quality and detail that goes into each product. Our riders have been vigorously testing every aspect of our race set up throughout the pre-season and we really feel that 2016 will mark a major evolution in our competitiveness and ability to get some podiums.”
The Intense team line up for 2016 was unveiled in February and consists of the young and seriously talented quartet of Jack Moir (Australia), Luca Cometti (USA), former Palmer Project junior phenomenon, Nik Nestoroff (USA) and top World Cup rider Dean Lucas (Australia).
The 2016 World Cup downhill season promises to be something special – “Intense’s heritage is world cup racing” continued Intense founder, Jeff Steber. “We built our brand and developed our bikes on race courses throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s and it feels amazing to be back. Great riders and great collaboration with POC means we are well placed and the season ahead looks awesome”
