Campagnolo has partnered with ANT Wireless to develop a wireless interface for their Record and Super Record groupsets. Together, the two created the DTI EPS V3 Interface (Digital Tech Intelligence (DTI), Electronic Power Shifting (EPS)). The Interface device, which among other things provides a charging port and shifting behavior customization, now boasts wireless compatibility with the ANT+ shifting device profile.
“The new EPS V3 hardware brings forth a whole new era in electronic shifting and the star of the show in this new groupset is the fantastic new interface. Campagnolo has, for over 80 years, built a reputation for not only high performance components that offer a winnning advantage but also for building reliability above and beyond requirements for that same performance. Incorporating ANT+ into this new groupset was an easy choice as it too is very reliable and represents a similar mission to that of Campagnolo. This easy to incorporate and very reliable protocol aids Campagnolo to increase the utility and performance of electronic shifting,” said Joshua Riddle, global press manager for Campagnolo.
Cyclists using Campagnolo’s V3 interface in conjunction with bike computers supporting the ANT+ shifting device profile can see gear-shifts in real time overlaid on other ride data such as speed and cadence. Post-ride, shifting habits and errors can be viewed and analyzed to help optimize rider performance.
Mike Rounding, product manager for ANT+ agreed that “Campagnolo’s reputation for successful products at all levels of competition make them a natural partner for pioneering technologies like ANT+.” He furthered, “At ANT Wireless we thrive on bringing innovative technology to market, and intelligent drivetrains like Campagnolo’s EPS groupsets with ANT+ support will drive cycling to new heights.”
