Five-time US National time trial champion Dave Zabriskie tried his hand at gravel racing this weekend, piloting his brand new 3T Exploro in the Tushar Crusher gravel race in his home state of Utah this past Saturday.
Zabriskie seems to be making a return to riding after recent efforts in the Race Across America (RAAM) and the Leadville MTB 100 (his first offroad race), saying that he was “looking for a fitness bump..”.
With a course profile featuring 10,400 feet (3170 m) of climbing at altitudes ranging from 6000–10000 feet, he was sure to get it.
Zabriskie recently founded a new movement called the Yield to Life Foundation, supporting safe space for cyclists.
