While cycling for recreation, exercise or commuting can satisfy even the most diehard luddite, there are several technologies you can use to enhance the bicycle riding experience. You are no longer limited to just a bell and simple dynamo lights!
Wireless Bicycle Turn Signal
This is an under-seat turn signal that is battery-powered. It has ultra-bright LEDs and also emits a loud beep when you make a turn. The turn signals are activated wirelessly with a push-button controller attached to the your handle bar. The unit also has a ‘hazard’ mode on the top left and right signals for when you are stopped on the road.
Siva Cycle Atom
With the Siva Cycle Atom you can use some of the kinetic power from your cycling to power your devices. This small portable generator attaches to your bicycle axle and can charge any device through a USB port (it would be great for some of the USB rechargeable lights that we’re reviewing right now!). This is an excellent addition to your bike especially if you love using your smartphone to enjoy some music or some gaming on the best mobile casinos when you alight. On the mobile casino front, one of our favourites is casinoroller.co to keep entertained on the go with lots of game options. The Siva Cycle Atom ensures you won’t run out juice.
Zackees LED Turn Signal Gloves for Cycling
If you commute with your bicycle, you will share the road with other vehicles. Zackees turn signal gloves will give you an additional layer of safety especially during low light situations. The gloves illuminate to show the direction you are turning and the lights are bright enough to be seen in daytime and at night. You won’t have to worry about taking special care of the gloves as they can be machine washed without dismantling the electronic part. As you would expect, the gloves are water proof and can thus withstand heavy rain. Most urban cyclists will love to have this!
Hammerhead
With the Hammerhead, you can get turn-by-turn navigation guided by a GPS app installed on your smartphone. It attaches to the handlebar and seamlessly integrates with cycling apps like MapMyRide and Strava. You no longer have to fiddle with your smartphone as you attempt to use its navigation features mid ride.
Not big on bringing your devices when you cycle? You can simply charge the detachable 13000mAh battery pack that is standard with every order when you are out riding.
Scosche boomBOTTLE
With the Scosche boomBOTTLE, you have a wireless Bluetooth speaker than is targeted towards outdoor activity. It fits into a standard bottle cage of your bicycle and is IPSX4 splash proof. Additionally, the boomBottle has a built-in microphone, allowing it to be used as a speaker phone. It also has a rechargeable lithium battery that provides 10 hours of use when fully charged. Colour options include pink, grey, blue, yellow and green.
These are just some of the tech options you have to make your rides more pleasurable.
