Pioneer Cycle Sports today introduces the new SGY-PM9100 Series Dual Leg Power Meter compatible with the new flagship Shimano® DURA-ACE® R9100 HOLLOWTECH® II crankset.* Pioneer also offers cyclists the option to add its advanced dual leg power meter to their existing Shimano DURA-ACE R9100 cranksets with the SGY-PM9100C Power Meter Kit. Also available with Shimano DURA-ACE 9000 and ULTEGRA® 6800 cranks, Pioneer’s dual leg power meters help riders uncover sources of pedaling imbalance and identify bike fit, power loss and absorption issues, making them essential tools for improving pedaling technique and efficiency.
“Our technology has been put to the test, meeting durability and performance standards required by pro riders competing at the highest levels and the most adverse real world conditions. For more than three seasons, UCI WorldTour® pro teams have been riding with Pioneer’s Dual Leg Power Meter system. The new Shimano DURA-ACE R9100 power meter is manufactured to the same specifications and will deliver the same benefits and results,” said Russ Johnston, executive vice president of marketing and corporate communications for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. “We are excited to expand our dual leg offerings with the highly-anticipated Shimano DURA-ACE R9100 HOLLOWTECH II crankset and are on track to be one of the first manufacturers to ship a power meter with the flagship crankset.”
SGY-PM9100 Series Dual Leg Power Meter Crankset
Pioneer’s Dual Leg Power Meter is the most advanced dual leg power meter system on the market, going beyond the standard ANT+ power metrics by measuring force in all directions at 30 degree intervals, 24 times per rotation, helping the rider develop pedaling balance and minimize power loss. When the power meter is combined with Pioneer’s SGX-CA500 GPS Cycle Computer, riders have access to HDPower Metrics for enhanced power data and analysis. The Cycle Computer with the Dual Leg Power Meter enables the rider to see comprehensive performance analysis and highly detailed data gathered from 24 points of measurement and displayed graphically in real-time on the display of the Cycle Computer, including Force Vectors and Torque Vectors graphics and Pedaling Efficiency.
The SGY-PM9100 Series Dual Leg Power Meter adds only 62 grams of weight to the original Shimano crank, making Pioneer’s system one of the lightest crank-based meters. The power meter is also compatible with ANT+® devices, including ANT+ sport watches. Riders with ANT+ computers will be able to see all ANT+ standardized power metrics supported by that computer.
- Chain ring configurations: 53/39, 52/36, 50/34
- Arm length (in millimeters): 165, 170, 172.5, 175

SGY-PM9100C Power Meter Kit
Pioneer’s SGY-PM9100C Power Meter Kit is an affordable dual leg power meter solution for cyclists who already own compatible Shimano cranksets. The SGY-PM9100C works with the new Shimano DURA-ACE R9100 crankset in addition to the DURA-ACE 9000 and ULTEGRA 6800 cranksets and enables cyclists to ride with power in a few easy steps. Once the SGY-PM9100C is purchased from an authorized retailer, the crankset is put in the box and shipped directly to Pioneer’s installation center, where the advanced power meter technology is installed. Pioneer has been performing the ship, install, and return procedure for over two years and the efficient system facilitates a quick turnaround of the cyclist’s crankset with power meter. Throughout the entire process, Pioneer keeps in constant communication with the dealer.
