We briefly touched on new introductions from Pioneer at Interbike in our Part 4 Recap, and the electronics brand is ready to get them out and on your bike. Below is a press release on exactly when each new model will be available through their website or your local dealer. We still have an article in the works coming soon to tell you everything we saw at their booth at the show.
Through November and December, Pioneer’s Cycle Sports Division is shipping products introduced at Interbike 2016, including the highly anticipated SGY-PM9100 Series Dual Leg Power Meter compatible with the new flagship Shimano® DURA-ACE® R9100 HOLLOWTECH® II crankset1, as well as the SGY-PM9100C Power Meter Kit,which offers cyclists the option to add Pioneer’s advanced dual leg power meter to their existing Shimano DURA-ACE R9100 cranksets. Pioneer’s dual leg power meters help riders uncover sources of pedaling imbalance and identify bike fit, power loss and absorption issues, making them essential tools for improving pedaling technique and efficiency.
Other product availability includes the expansion of Pioneer’s power meter kit line-up to support popular crankset and crank arm brands2 Campagnolo®, Cannondale® and FSA®, as well as Shimano mountain bike models, XTR Trail and XT. The power meter kits can be installed on the cyclist’s existing crank or crank arm to eliminate the need for investment in a second crank, making riding with power easy and economical. Each kit is built using the superior technology developed to meet the requirements of professional athletes competing at the world tour level and offering the same force direction data and Pioneer’s advanced HDPower Metrics. The power meter kits are available in three installation options: SGY-PM9100C Dual Leg Power Meter Kit for consumer supplied dual leg crankset, SGY-PMLTC Power Meter Upgrade Kit for consumer supplied left crank arm and SGY-PMRTC Power Meter Upgrade Kit for consumer supplied drive side crank.
“A power meter is a necessary training tool for any level of cyclist with a passion to improve,” said Russ Johnston, executive vice president of marketing and corporate communications for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. “Pioneer’s power meter measures your effort instantaneously in real time to help you get fitter, faster and more efficient on the bike. Buy a power meter, beat your friends.”
Pioneer’s power meters can easily pair with any ANT+® compatible cycle computers and sports watches. Riders withANT+ computers will be able to see all ANT+ standardized power metrics supported by that computer. Access to Pioneer’s exclusive HDPower Metrics for enhanced power data and analysis is available by combining the SGX-CA500 Cycle Computer with any Pioneer power meter, dual or single leg. Adding Pioneer’s Cycle Computer enables the rider to see comprehensive performance analysis and highly detailed data, gathered from 12 points of measurement on the Single Leg Power Meter and 24 points of measurement on the Dual Leg Power Meter, and displayed graphically in real time on the display of the Cycle Computer, including Force Vectors, Torque Vectors graphics and Pedaling Efficiency.
