2017 Giro d’Italia: Stage 19 Results

  • Ron

After landing on the second step of the podium on Thursday, Team Sky’s Mikel Landa today reigned supreme, winning the 19th stage of the 2017 Giro d’Italia over Rui Costa and Pierre Roland.

Tom Dumoulin, who started the day in the maglia rosa leader’s jersey cracked today and lost the lead to Movistar’s Nairo Quintana. Dumoulin now trails the lead by 38 seconds, with Vincenzo Nibali just 5 seconds back.

Frenchman Thibaut Pinot of the FdJ team had a stellar day today as well, stealing time from his general classification opponents and moving to 4th place, 53 seconds off of the overall lead.  No word yet if Pinot is attempting the Giro-Tour double, but he is definitely showing one of the strongest performances from a French rider that we’ve seen for some time.
