It’s a update this month for frames. Guerciotti adds three frames to the UCI Approved List. The new Eureka Air, Eureka CX, and E740.
The Italian brand continues their No Limit Carbon Engineering concept to three new frames. The no compromise design concept brings together the best materials, innovative production techniques, rigorous quality control, and Italian design and engineering to create the brand’s top end bikes.
The Eureka Air becomes the brand’s top aero road bike. While there is nothing revolutionary in the shapes used not the frame, Guerciotti touts the monocoque design using Expanded Polypropilene System (EPS) in the modeling process. They also teamed up with component brand TEC to create a bar/stem combination that allows all cables to be run almost completely internally. Beyond the front brake cable, all of the cables heading to the back half of the bike run through the carbon bars, into the aluminum stem, and into the frame.
The Eureka CX takes the Eureka line off the road for the first time. Using many of the same concepts from other Eureka products, the CX is a monocoque frame set using EPS construction. The CX includes internal cable routing, but not the integrated routing through the bars and stem like the Air. Stopping duties are left to disc brakes only, with 12mm axles, and flat mount calipers (though the pictures have post mount).
The E740 takes the brand’s light weight frame to a new level. Utilizing a monocoque frame with EPS construction, it uses standard shaped tubes to create a light weight frame that is still stiff and responsive. Guerciotti claims the frame weighs in at 740g, but doesn’t state what size and with what hardware.
