USA Cycling announced today that a long-time leader of its elite athletic programs, Jim Miller, Vice President of High Performance, is leaving the organization.
Miller leaves USA Cycling after 16 years of service in which he led the organization to 14 medals in the last three Olympic Games. CEO Derek Bouchard-Hall commented, “Jim has led USA Cycling’s athletics programs to unprecedented success, and we are very grateful for his many contributions to American cycling. He leaves the elite athletics department in outstanding shape, and we have ambitious plans in place to build upon his legacy and accomplish even more in the future.”
Miller will be joining TrainingPeaks, a USA Cycling partner, in a new role. Scott Schnitzspahn, Vice President of Elite Athletics at USA Cycling, said, “We are sad to see Jim go, but we are very pleased he will be joining a partner of USA Cycling’s and will continue to contribute to the American cycling community. We wish him tremendous success.”
USA Cycling will not be replacing the Vice President of High Performance position, instead adjusting the roles and responsibilities of its recently expanded elite athletics team to continue its march toward the goal of seven medals in Tokyo in 2020.
