Rudy Project has added Andre Greipel and the Lotto-Soudal Cycling Team to their long list of sponsored teams and athletes. The brand has been the top helmet at the Ironman World Championships in Kona for more years than we can remember (we looked it up, 7 times and counting), and they are expanding their footprint in the top level of professional cycling by equipping the pro men, pro women, and U23 squads of Lotto-Soudal with sunglasses for the 2018 season.
“We’re proud to back Lotto Soudal this year, and it’s looking to be a phenomenal Pro Tour season for Rudy Project. This year we are supporting three UCI World Tour teams and thanks to Lotto Soudal and TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank, we’ll have two teams in the UCI Women World Tour this year,” says Cristiano Barbazza, President and CEO of Rudy Project. “Rudy Project and Lotto-Soudal are brands which embody the cycling heritage and share a strong passion for racing at the highest level. They have an incredible lineup with many young and talented riders and the coming race season looks very promising.”
The team will not be wearing the brand’s helmets, but they will have access to a wide array of sunglasses from the Italian brand, along with the range of additional lenses they have on offer. Greipel has already taken two wins at the Tour Down Under wearing the Tralyx sunglasses, and has worn Rudy Project glasses previously through team sponsorships.
“Until 2012 I always wore Rudy Project glasses. I know their products well and I am very happy with this new partnership,” said Greipel. “Things have always been smooth with Rudy Project, they really listen to the feedback from the riders.”
In addition to the Lotto-Soudal Squads, Rudy Project has also been a long time sponsor of the Tibco-Silicon Valley Bank Women’s Pro Cycling Team and added Team Bahrain-Merida and Trek-Segafredo in more recent years.
Tibco-Silicon Valley Bank and Team Bahrain-Merida both have full access to Rudy Projects helmets and glasses, including the top level RaceMaster and Boost01 road helmets, both of which we have in-house and are working on completing reviews for. Trek-Segafredo joins the Lotto-Soudal teams as sunglasses only squads.
Looks for reviews on the RaceMaster, Boost01, and other Rudy Project products throughout the year.
