US brand Revant knows a few things about the sunglass industry. The brand has made a name for themselves by making quality aftermarket replacement lenses for sunglasses from many of the top brands in the industry. So it seems pretty logical that making their own sunglasses would be the next step. Something that separates them from other brands though, Revant wants these to be the last pair of sunglasses you’ll ever need. Instead of trashing them if something breaks, Revant will carry replacement parts and offers discounts to replace damaged lenses or even replace lost frames.
The Revant Max Care guarantee means that they have your back for the life of the sunglasses, which should be as long as you want them. They offer a lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defects and all parts of the sunglasses are replaceable. Whether it’s the temples, MaxGrip temple sleeves and nose pads or even the frame itself, they will carry them all. You also get a standing discount of 20% off all replacement lenses. If you lose your Revants, they will offer you 30% off a new pair of frames. Even when you order your first pair, there is a 60-day risk-free try-on and support from Revant’s team of trained optical experts to make sure you are getting the right pair for your needs. Shipping and returns in the US are also free.
Initially, Revant is rolling out three different models. The F1L is their full frame, full coverage option. It’s sporty, yet casual, but also very functional, meeting ANSI Z87.1 standards for high mass and high-velocity protection. The wrap around design follows the curve of your face to block out peripheral light from coming in.
The S1L is the dual lens active design that is all about light weight. At a claimed 25 grams, they definitely hit that target. An open nose bridge design helps to promote ventilation to prevent fogging, which can be handy for runners and cyclists. The MaxGrip nose pads and temple sleeves keep them solidly in place, no matter how rough the terrain.
The S2L is the full shield option. Out of the three, this would probably be the most appealing option for cyclists. The angled temples are designed to play nicely with helmet straps and retention systems, and the balanced design should keep them from moving, even while riding over rough terrain.
Being a lens company, all three models are built around the lenses. They started with their best lenses, the Elite series. As mentioned earlier, they are ANSI Z87.1 impact protection with polarization and 100% UV protection. They are taper corrected, which means that even though the lens is curved, the optical clarity is still on point. Multiple lens tints are available, all of which are polarized, and lenses on all three models can be swapped out to provide you with the right lens for the right situation.
