For Fall/Winter 2018, Pearl Izumi is introducing a new collection of winter mountain bike pants— the Summit collection includes the new Summit AmFIB® Pant, Summit AmFIB® Lite Pant and Summit AmFIB® Convertible Pant. They all feature AmFIB® Softshell and water shedding Thermal Fleece fabric with PEARL iZUMi’s exclusive, PI DRY® technology.
“We’ve seen a trend towards more foul weather and winter riding, and not just on fatbikes,” said Alex Strouthopoulos, Senior Product Manager at PEARL iZUMi. “The new Summit collection provides riders with technical gear that allows them to deal with cold and wet conditions, extending the season comfortably.”
The Summit AmFIB Lite Pant ($150) with insulation, and protection from wind and water keeps riders pedaling through the dark days of winter. A combination of AmFib® Lite on the front and thermal fabric on the back offers the right balance of warmth and pedaling performance for all but the absolute coldest days. PI DRY® technology adds water shedding performance to the thermal panels, so riders dry quickly after charging a puddle or kicking up snow. Wear this pant over liner shorts or tights for additional warmth.
The Summit AmFIB Pant ($185) is PEARL iZUMi’s warmest MTB pant. They are ready to help hardy riders push through the toughest conditions. Featuring AmFIB ® softshell throughout for a combination of warmth, wind and water resistance. Special Thermal panels on the back of knees add breathability and enhance pedaling performance, and PI Dry ® technology adds water shedding functionality. Zips at the lower leg are designed to fit securely over larger winter boots. Wear over liner shorts or full length tights.
The Summit AmFIB Convertible Pant ($225) is a zip-of version of the Summit Softshell Pant—with the added versatility of a quick conversion to a softshell short. Featuring AmFIB ® softshell throughout for a combination of warmth, and wind and water resistance. Raw edge construction hides the locking zippers on the short hems and long ankle zippers allow the lower legs to be removed over shoes. Wear over liner shorts or full length PI Dry® tights for the ultimate adjustable winter combo.
Other notable Fall/Winter releases include the Versa Softshell Hoodie ($175), with all-over softshell this hoodie provides warmth and stretch that’s great on the bike while staying casually comfortable. A drop tail hem and reflective elements keep you covered, warm and visible when riding. The back-zip kangaroo pocket is a perfect place to store gloves when you get to your destination without adding bulk. Wear it over anything to add some bike style to your casual look, whether you’re pedaling or just enjoying the day. Additionally fan favorite Versa Barrier Jacket ($140) and Versa Quilted Hoodie ($220) are being released in new colorways.
