If you are looking for motivation to get you through the winter, Zwift has announced their Winter Fondo series. The first of six events starts this weekend and runs through April. Each month gives you a chance to earn a new unique jersey for your virtual rider.
Each event has a little something for everyone. You can ride at your own pace, or treat it like a race and compete against yourself and other riders to turn in your fastest time. There are also three courses to choose to fit your schedule or fitness level.
If you want a quick ride, the Bambino Fondo is a 30 mile ride on the Three Sister course, which means almost 3,000ft of climbing. The Medio Fondo is 44.9 miles on the Watopia Pretzel with over 4,300ft of climbing. The longest route, the Grand Fondo, is 66.5 miles on the Mega Pretzel course, with almost 5,400ft of climbing.
For November, there are 4 rides available, starting at 8PM Eastern on the 10th. If you miss that one, you’ll have three more chances on Sunday at 4AM, 9AM and Noon. You can join the ride and set up a reminder on the Zwift Companion app now. The A group is the Grand, B Group is the Medio, and C is the Bambino.
Future Zwift Fondo are scheduled for December 9th, January 13th, February 10th, March 10th, and April 7th.
