2018 Holiday Gift Guide: Dainese Settantadue Motorcycle Jackets

  • Ron

No, these have nothing to do with bikes – at least not the type you pedal. That said, we like classic, quality clothing here at Bike World News, and these new jackets from Dainese certainly tick both boxes.

The Settantadue line from Dainese comprises a full line leather jackets, leather pants, jeans, boots, gloves and accessories, but we’re just focusing on the jackets.

Two leather jackets highlight the new collection: the Patina72 ($1,099.95) and the Rapida72 ($649.95).

To design the Patina72, Dainese took soft drum-dyed premium leather and treated it to obtain a distinctive patina that is only removed when the garment is complete. As a result, the jacket takes on unique tonal variations and an exceptionally soft, warm feel. Since each jacket has different tonal variations, no two Patina72 jackets are exactly alike. The refinement of the garment is enhanced by a lining that was created and printed exclusively for Dainese72 by the New York artist Othelo Gervacio. Other features include Pro-Armor protection and removable soft protectors certified to standard EN 1621.1 on shoulders and elbows.

As for the Rapida72, the company took the DNA of the two-piece leathers Dainese had introduced in the late seventies and created a thoroughbred jacket in the spirit of its racing history. The jacket combines Dainese’s functionality with advanced technology and is crafted with soft Sol cowhide and Pro-Armor protection for outstanding safety, comfort and style.
