Mikel Landa, Richard Carapaz and Andrey Amador will lead Movistar’s lineup for the 2019 Giro d’Italia.
The Eusebio Unzué-managed squad will also include Héctor Carretero, Lluís Mas, Antonio Pedrero, José Joaquín Rojas and Jasha Sütterlin, with Chente García Acosta and Maximilian Sciandri as sports directors.
The three leaders bring solid experience to the Giro squad. Landa placed 3rd overall in the 2015 Giro and has won three stages. Carapaz was 4th overall last year and earned a stage victory the same year. Amador took 4th in 2015, won a stage in 2012 and wore the Maglia Rosa in 2016.
Rojas, Sütterlin and Pedrero all have raced the Giro before. They are joined by two Giro debutants: Lluís Mas, in his maiden Grand Tour in Blue colours, and youngster Carretero (23), who will continue to learn and progress by racing a three-week stage race for the first time.
