Bicycle and skateboard helmet manufacturer TSG won an Oscar this week in the Documentary category for the Learning to Skateboard in a Warzone (If You’re a Girl). The documentary follows the progress of a group of girls at Skateistan in Kabul. Filmed over the course of a year, the documentary follows the girls as they progress both in the classroom and the skatepark. They navigate not only the challenges of their education but of the increasingly unstable world outside the walls of Skateistan.

TSG supports the initiative to empower children and youth through skateboarding and education.
Oliver Percovich, Founder and Executive Director of Skateistan, explained: “RideTSG was the first official equipment sponsor of Skateistan and it is now a decade since the partnership started. Their enthusiasm to support Skateistan has helped us grow and establish Skate Schools in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. Thank you, RideTSG for being there through thick and thin!”
