If you haven’t already joined the CeramicSpeed Mission on Zwift, you still have the rest of the month to join, and complete the challenge to be entered to win one of their Oversized Pulley Wheel Systems (OSPW). Check out the details below on how you can win.
From now until May 31st, enroll in the CeramicSpeed Mission and get riding with an OSPW System on your bike (except the Z1 and single speed bikes, because, well, they don’t have derailleurs). To complete the challenge, you must ride 25 miles on a mountain bike, 50 miles on at TT bike, and 75 miles on a road bike. It doesn’t matter where or when, you can ride them in any world, solo or on group rides, just get the distance in on each type bike. Upon completion, you’ll get an exclusive CeramicSpeed kit and you’ll be entered to win one of two OSPW Systems (one for a male rider, one for a female rider), valued at $499. You’ll also be offered the opportunity to purchase a limited edition version of the system with Zwift orange pulley wheels at retail price. Only 100 will be available.
“We’re very excited to be powering this month’s Zwift Mission,” says CeramicSpeed’s Managing Director, Martin Banke. “We’re keen to see the performance benefits that result from running our OSPW Systems in the virtual world. We are offering personalized, engraved products to riders who complete the challenge alongside our product giveaway.”
If you are looking for more motivation than that, CeramicSpeed will be hosting group rides where you can join CeramicSpeed sponsored athletes who are also working to complete the CeramicSpeed mission.
“CeramicSpeed is an innovator in the cycling space and I’m excited Zwift is partnering with them to bring their OSPW Systems to the game,” says Eric Min, CEO & Co-Founder of Zwift. “Throughout the month of May, Zwifters that have enrolled in the mission will be able to see the performance benefits of the OSPW System. I look forward to taking part in all three disciplines of the mission.”
While we are not 100% clear what the increase in efficiency will be in the virtual world, the OSPW System is claimed to offer 30-40% higher efficiency over stock pulleys in the real world. It’s more than just efficiency though. CeramicSpeed’s ceramic bearings provide a claimed 3-5 times longer lifespan than other ceramic bearings on the market, and up to 10 times longer than steel bearings.
