Portland-based Chrome Industries has added a new sling bag to their lineup, the Mini Kadet. The new bag is set to complement their other sling bags as a smaller option to carry the necessities, whether you are heading out on or off the bike.
The Mini Kadet is made for carrying the essentials for your day. A wallet, keys, phone, compact camera, and even a water bottle and a U-Lock. Its 5L volume (about 4L smaller than the original Kadet) can carry a surprising amount of items, and dimensions of 6.5″ x 13.25″ x 3.13″ keeps it from feeling bulky. The main bag is made up of a water-resistant durable nylon shell with a 70d poly liner. It has two main zippered compartments. The front is for small, thin items, while the main compartment is for everything else. Underneath, there are two small, adjustable straps that can be cinched tight to keep the Mini Kadet compact, or opened up to strap something small to the underside. On back, there is a padded U-lock holder that allows you to holster your U-lock while not in use, but still remain comfortable on your back.
The strap is a tough, 5-Bar webbing with a shoulder pad and a nylon daisy chain for hooking additional items to it. The Mini Kadet strap is adjustable in length using the stainless steel slider that also features an integrated bottle opener.
The Mini Kadet is available in three colors, black, 0live, and their special BLCKCHRM 22X color. Black and Olive retail at $70, and feature a black and white badge on the front of the bag. The $80 BLCKCHRM 22x edition trades the logo for a stealthy, all-black logo, and uses a lightweight 22x nylon laminate shell with Cordura TPX double laminate technology. Essentially, it is a lighter weight and extremely durable material.
The Chrome Mini Kadet is available now through Chrome’s website or your favorite Chrome dealer. We are working to get a sample in for review and will keep you posted as we can.
