Keep the carriage dry with Ballguard

  • Ron

I have to say…I’ve never really been a huge fan of chamois cream. The idea of putting something “down there” that is going to stay slippery enough and, honestly, wet enough for an hours long ride that isn’t so viscous that it drips down your leg is odd to me.

Even for short efforts, most chamois creams feel good for about 45 minutes. Then things to start to…. seize up, shall we say?

Personally, I’ve always found them more useful for post-ride usage, giving a little relief to your chafed areas. Yes, if you do a long ride, you’re going to chafe, regardless what you put down there.

All. That. Said.

I recently got a chance to try Ballguard – definitely a different approach to on-bike comfort and I am more than pleased.

Ballguard is a product that goes on as a cream and dries quickly to a nice, mess-free powder. No need to dry and get baby powder ‘down there’ without it getting everywhere else.

Let me tell you guys – nothing is sticking to nothing with this product!

Rides of at least a few hours were totally comfortable. Definitely no chafing and, not that I’m sticking my nose down there or volunteering my SO for that duty, no odor either. It’s not perfect. A few hours of vigorous exercise is going to rinse the powder away, but you’re going to be dry and comfy until then.

Made in the USA, Ballguard is talc, aluminum, paragon AND cruelty free (I mean, srsly, who wants to be cruel to their balls?) and sells for $12.

Get it now at the Ballwash web site.
