Sunday, June 20 is Father’s Day, and there are plenty of great options for Dad from cycling brands, breweries and distilleries.

USWE Epic Packs
Dad’s probably been throwing on the same ‘ole hydration pack for years now. The new EPIC Series of packs from USWE (pronounced you-swee) feature their NDM (No Dancing Monkey) 1.2 harness system, Elite™ hydration bladder, and ample gear carry options. The combined efforts of NDM and ergonomically designed shoulder straps keep the pack stationary on the back during the climb and even at high speed on the descents.
Similarly, I see a lot of road bikes come into the shop with some NASTY bar tape. It tends to be one of those things that should get changed out yearly, but rarely does. Lizard Skins just came out with their new 4.6mm V2 DSP tape. Yes, this stuff is THICK, but it will certainly give more than enough vibration damping for road, bikepacking, long gravel rides, and cyclocross. If that’s just too thick for you, the DSP V2 tape line is also available in: 1.8mm, 2.5mm and 3.2mm thicknesses and a variety of colors.
Muc-Off Tubeless Valves
Muc-Off recently rolled out a new version of their already fantastic tubeless valve stems. Designed for riders to ‘stick-it’ to punctures, the new Tubeless Valves change the game once again. The fresh new line up features aircraft grade aluminium for increased strength and reliability. The material upgrade sees the new valves weighing in at 2 grams lighter per pair than the previous model – a weight reduction of 17%. For the professional teams and athletes that use these valves, marginal gains mean the difference between winning and losing.
Muc-Off High Pressure Degreaser
Also new from Muc-Off is a high-pressure, quick drying chain degreaser. This innovative product comes with a high-pressure turbo-spray action, and a heavy-duty formula which cuts through dirt and grime in seconds. Its unique quick dry ‘zero residue’ formula evaporates after application to leave the area clean and dry with no need to rinse after use.
WT-1 Chain Lube
Once you’ve gotten the chain clean, follow it up with the innovative new chain lube from Wolf Tooth Components. WT-1 Chain Lube is a premium synthetic chain lubricant and a drivetrain treatment for all conditions in the same bottle. It cleans and protects chains while improving overall mechanical efficiency of a drivetrain. This allows cyclists to have just WT-1 Chain Lube on hand, instead of separate dry chain lube, wet chain lube, chain cleaner, and drivetrain treatment.

Bend-based 10 Barrel Brewing and Bozeman-based Simms Fishing Products are proud to announce a collaborative beer and the latest edition to 10 Barrel’s #drinkitforward program, Reel Good Summer Ale. As with all of 10 Barrel’s Give Back beers a portion of the proceeds from Reel Good benefit Trout Unlimited’s Home Rivers Initiative focused on the Gallatin River, a project that Simms’ has largely supported since late last year. Huge whirlpool additions and multiple Dry Hopping did the trick. It drinks just like fruit juice… but better.
