For the 5th time, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co has worked with Paul Component Engineering to build a bike for them to show off at the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey. This year, they wanted to build something extra unique and special, so they picked up the phone and asked Burnsey over at Oddity Cycles if he was interested. He acted pretty nonchalant about getting it done in time, but how he was able to bend, miter, weld, beadblast, polish, and anodize custom logos into such a wild titanium frame, fork and handlebar in the short amount of time we gave him… there’s really only one explanation: He is a real-life WIZARD.
White Industries and Velocity USA sent us raw parts to anodize match Pale Ale green along with a selection of Paul’s own parts. Ron from King Cage custom bent up two hollow titanium can cages, and Phil Wood cut some custom length spokes. Dynaplug provided one of their latest Covert bar-end tire plugging systems, and WTB sent us all the black rubber bits needed to wrap this bike up into one exotic singlespeed dirt cruiser!
If you’re headed to Sea Otter this year?, you can stop by the Sierra Nevada beer tent and point your eyeballs at this beautiful rig. If you donate $5 or more to California Mountain Biking Coalition (CAMTB), by April 29 you’ll get an exclusive chance to take home the Sierra Oddity. Donations to CAMTB will help fuel its ongoing state-level mountain biking and trail advocacy efforts in California, including working with important land managers like CA State Parks and the U.S Forest Service, as well as tracking and influencing state and federal legislation and elections that impact access to public lands and natural resource conservation.
