DK Bicycles has introduced their Phase USA stem. The first of many products DK is planning to manufacture in the US, the stem takes the brand back to their earliest days, when they started out making BMX stems in an Ohio garage.
Let me just add an aside to an otherwise standard press release… Back in the eighties when I was a BMX kid, the Danishek kids (the family that owns DK) were a regular presence at the weekend races. Their alloy stems were starting to show up on a lot of bikes, and it is safe to say that they were THE stem to have on your bike. The DK brand grew and evolved, but the family was always involved, and many of the kids that I saw at the races are now closely involved with the company.
The Phase USA is made in DK’s new machine shop at their headquarters in Springboro, OH. While the stem is a completely new design, the look harkens back to the design of their first stems. Designed to be strong and lightweight, its features include twin truss design, weight reduction cavities, offset pinch slot, and flared bosses to increase surface area and clamping power.
The stem is available in 48 and 53mm extensions and is anodized in red, blue, gold, silver and black.
