Feedback Sports already makes some of the best repair stands out there. They are compact, light, and sturdy, but as bikes continue to evolve and more e-bikes out there, their new Pro Mechanic HD repair stand is ready to take on bikes of all shapes and sizes at home, in the shop, or at your next event.
Starting with the proven design of stands like the Pro-Elite and Ultralight stands, Feedback Sports went with oversized 6061-T6 aluminum tubes to help to increase strength and durability, while keeping weight down. It is height adjustable through a telescoping upper tube with a quick-release clamp.
At the base, they stick with the three legs that extend out a little further from the base than the previous designs to provide 7% more footprint and even more stability for heavier bikes. The new leg tubes are also a little larger and braces have been stiffened and reinforced to provide even more stability. The rubber boots at the bottom of the legs help to protect the floor surface and are replaceable.
Up top, the clamp can fit larger tubes, up to 2.6″. It has a magnetic told holder built-in and is compatible with current accessories for Feedback Sport’s current stands. Additionally, the clamp can be closed 60% faster, has 45% greater grip, and the force to release it has been reduced by 30%. At home, these figures might not seem that important, but for shop mechanics that are working with them day in and day out on heavy e-bikes, or mechanics working an event where time matters, a speedier stand or less effort to use it will be greatly appreciated. The angle of the head can be adjusted quickly and to any angle to make it easy to get to any part of your bike. Tool-free replaceable pads and a micro-adjust dial on the clamp help to protect carbon parts.
All of these improvements mean the new Pro Mechanic HD repair stand can hold bikes up to 120lbs. That’s a 35lb improvement over the current Pro-Elite and Ultralight stands. When folded up, it collapses down to 43″ long and 8″ wide, which is pretty impressive for a stand of this size and capacity.
The new Pro Mechanic HD stand is available in October through their website or local dealers. At $495, it is definitely an investment piece, but well worth it for serious home mechanics, shops, or team mechanics.
