Ira Ryan Cycles is back!

  • Ron

Ira Ryan Cycles has relaunched, with a focus on full custom frames and a customer-first mindset.

After the dissolution of a 10 year partnership with Breadwinner Cycles, Ryan returns to his passion, building fully custom steel bicycles frames for a select number of riders each year. Based in Portland, OR, Ryan has reignited the torch, creating timeless and functional bikes for riders of all disciplines.

With nearly 20 years of experience, Ryan has been fabricating bicycles since 2005 after building his first frame in the Vanilla Bicycles/Speedvagen shop. A lifelong student of the bicycle, prior to frame building Ryan won multiple ultra endurance road and gravel cycling events.

“The ability to understand a rider’s desires and background help me shape the final product,” stated Ryan. “Every detail of the frame should complement the customer’s unique riding style and position on the bike. Building in the appropriate amount of utility while maintaining an elegant and sleek design is what I am known for, and I look forward to reconnecting with my passion for creating dream bikes.”

Ira Ryan cycles is now accepting orders for full custom bicycles of all disciplines. Customers wishing to place an order can contact Ryan via his website. The books are open for 2023.

As a well known and respected frame builder, slots in the build queue will go quickly. Ryan plans to limit the number of bicycles made each year to ensure each customer gets the attention deserved. A huge part of the custom process revolves around interactions with the rider, and unlike many modern builders Ryan revels in this portion of the fabrication process.

Ryan will focus on building all steel road, gravel, adventure, randonee and city bikes with timeless styling and functional details. Each bike will be fully custom from beginning to end taking into account each detail and component. You can find the new website at iraryanbicycles.com.
