Help Fido Lighten Things Up – Sky Yaeger’s Lost Splash ‘n Go Carbon Bowls

So chalk this one up as a pretty sweet find. Our friends over at Mint Socks were recently on a trip to visit a friend and carbon frame builder, Sky Yaeger, when they came across something so cool, we had to share it.

Here’s the backstory from Suzette…

A few weeks back during travels up the west coast from Baja, Mexico to Hood River, Oregon we made a stop in Marin County to visit our friend, bicycle designer extraordinaire, cow dog lover, and an all ’round kick-ass woman, Sky Yaeger.

In between bike rides and dog hikes, while helping Sky shed a few collector’s items bicycle components, and bicycles, we discovered a few carbon fiber dog files in the way-back corner!  The story goes that a few years and beers back Sky thought it would be a stupid idea to design and produce carbon fiber dog bowls. Because bike people and dogs go together, right?

And so in between making rad bikes for Bianchi, Swobo, and Shinola, she made some carbon fiber dog bowls for her four-legged family members who were with her at that time: Bucky, Stevie, and Maisey.

Most of them sold quickly, but lucky us and lucky you, there in the corner of the shed we found an unopened box of the original and FIRST EVER carbon fiber dog bowl, Sky Yaeger’s Splash ‘n Go

Hand-crafted of 2×2 carbon fiber weave from a proprietary 2-part mold, this unique basin uses the same advanced technology as aerospace, F1, sail foils, and other ultra-high-performance components – like bicycles.

No pet? No worries. The Splash ‘n Go doubles as a fruit bowl, nut dish, or popcorn vessel and is sure to impress your bike friends.

Mint Socks is helping Yaeger find good homes for these newly found Splash ‘n Go’s. Head over to Mint’s website to pick one up before they are gone.
