Velocio launches Off-Road Equipment line

  • Ron

Since its inception in early 2013, Velocio has focused on designing and producing the best possible products for a better way to experience the bike — any bike. They’re intent on pushing the boundaries of what’s considered equipment, extending the life and durability of everything they create, and raising the bar of comfort and performance, all in the pursuit of A Better Way.

Velocio Off-Road Equipment is the realization of years of experience, development, and testing, all centered around the motivation to create something better, something more lasting, to redefine apparel as equipment — an essential part of experiencing mountain biking.

The new collection is defined by Velocio’s brand ethos and the types of riding that the team seeks out: long days on a mix of MTB terrain—flow, singletrack, up, down, big efforts, and occasional lift access. It’s equipment for riders who desire a refined and subtle look, sick of the logos and loud kit, but require the fit and performance of top-end, race-inspired gear.

Product Collection

The new line will include several sub-categories of products intended to address different types of riding and conditions. Riders are able to mix styles to find the perfect combination for the given day.

Arcade & Velocio

All Off-Road Equipment pants and shorts include a matching Arcade Belt.

Other fit systems pale in comparison to the time-tested belt. Velocio x Arcade Belts are built for the trail — they’re durable, lightweight, infinitely adjustable, and have just enough stretch to accommodate whatever shapes you might be throwing.

Access

Made with zero compromises for the most dedicated riders who want apparel that not just suffices but excels on the hardest charging trails, and in the harshest conditions. This is the go-to for deep backcountry rides, lift access, or whenever the going gets tough.
Access represents the most advanced developments in materials, construction, and patterning – pushing what’s possible in MTB apparel.

The Access line is made up of shorts and pants for both men and women.

The Trail Access Paint ($199) is the highest performing MTB riding pant available. Full stop. Italian-milled Cordura fabric combines premium materials in a lightweight and durable pant for year-round full-length protection.

The Trail Access Short ($179) is the most durable and detailed mountain bike short from Velocio, ready for any and all riding.

Ultralight

Maximized comfort and breathability with minimal weight. Whether it’s a super light mesh jersey for mid-summer heat, or an ultra-packable hooded jacket for early-morning starts, Ultralight disappears in the peripheral, yet brings exceptional versatility into focus.

The line includes a jacket, jersey and shorts for men and women.

The Ultralight Trail Hooded Jacket ($189) is exceptionally lightweight and versatile for year-round outdoor adventures and detailed to excel on the trail. Windproof and water-resistant Pertex Quantum Air fabric maintains high-output breathability without sacrificing protection from the elements.

The Indigo Dye Ultralight Trail Jersey ($79) is Velocio’s lightest and most breathable jersey in the off-road collection, printed with a unique indigo dye pattern. Relaxed trail-specific fit for maximum freedom of movement on the hottest and longest days.

Finally, the Ultralight Trail Short ($159) is Velocio’s minimalist option for the longest mid-summer days. Ultralight Stretch woven fabric weighs a mere 115 gsm.

Trail

A core collection of styles that respond to a wide range of conditions and terrain. Utilizing recycled and natural fibers, and attention to the finest details, these become the year-round staples that the rest of Velocio Off-Road Equipment is built upon.

The Trail line is the largest for Velocio’s 2023 Off-Road Equipment line and includes:

The Trail Access Hardshell ($389) – Ready for the harshest conditions and packable enough to stash away on any ride. The TRAIL ACCESS Hardshell is Velocio’s most advanced mountain bike outer layer with class-leading technology and a relaxed cut.

The Trail Access Anorak ($389) – Pared-down protection. The half-zip TRAIL Anorak is a lightweight and durable waterproof-breathable shell for the harshest conditions. Pertex Shield Air three-layer construction is PFA and PFC free.

Delta TRAIL Jersey / Long Sleeve ($79 M/$99 W) – Blended recycled polyester and Tencel yarns pair exceptional moisture management with durability for the long haul. The long-sleeve version adds extra protection without stifling summer versatility.

Merino TRAIL Jersey / Long Sleeve ($89 M / $109 W) – Unbeatable natural merino wool, blended with nylon and elastane for three-season performance and long-lasting comfort, without any lingering stench after a day of riding. Long sleeves add extra protection and durability.

Micromodal TRAIL Jersey ($79)  – Italian-milled Micromodal mesh uses natural materials to create Velocio’s softest fabric right out of the bag. Wicking and quick dry properties stand up to any ride.

TRAIL Mesh Bib Liner ($129) – Take breathability to the maximum with the highly elastic Mesh Bib Liner, featuring Velocio’s Ultralight High-Density chamois. Carry extra cargo with two low-profile thigh pockets.

Branding Updates

With the creation of the new MTB collection, Velocio replaced their traditional tricolor flag woven label with an OFF ROAD EQUIPMENT woven label that will be applied to every product within the line. A bright “blaze” gold-yellow will become the indicator for this collection, and tie back to the brand ethos and spirit of exploration and wild places. Velocio also developed a modified “Ci” logo to denote this collection—a combination of where they’ve come from and the new look and requirements of MTB equipment.
