KS Suspension Highlights Gravel Line at Eurobike

KS Suspension continues to expand their product line in the gravel sector, building beyond their 27.2 diameter dropper posts. At the show, they were highlighting their Either line of cockpit components, Rage-iS dropper/suspension seat post, and GTC suspension fork.

You might had seen a KS dropper on one of our gravel test rigs in the past. I was interested in using a dropper for gravel, and picked up a KS Integra 27.2 for my Van Dessel Full Tilt Boogie cyclocross and gravel bike. It gives me the flexibility to drop the saddle when things get rowdy for more room to move around on the bike, or to get into a more aerodynamic position on the downhills for more speed. With the clamp being at the bottom of the dropper, it allows me to use a modified left hand SRAM DoubleTap shifter as my lever.

Rage-iS Dropper/Suspension Post

KS is taking things to the next level with their Rage-iS dropper post. Not only is it a dropper, but also a suspension post. The entire system runs on air, allowing you to fine tune the suspension side, while keeping the dropper fully operational. The small Schrader valve sits just under the saddle clamp, making adjusting the air pressure extremely easy. A small O-ring sits on the post to measure sag. Precision keyways keeps the post virtually play free, providing a stable pedaling platform.

The Rage-iS is available in 27.2, 3.9, 31.6, and 34.9mm sizes, with travel running from 65-150mm depending on the diameter of the post. Weights range from 428-600g.

GTC Gravel Fork

Sticking with the suspension, KS also has their GTC Gravel Suspension Fork. KS worked to blend functionality and lightweight to create a fork that will help smooth out the bumps without slowing you down on the climbs. KS uses a carbon arch and carbon/6061 aluminum lower leg assembly to keep the weight down with an 6066 aluminum crown and 7075 anodized aluminum stanchions. The GTC features an oil dampening system providing 40mm of travel with rebound adjusted under the left fork leg and lockout lever at the top of the same leg. Weight comes in at 1385g and there is clearance for up tp 700x50c tires.

Ether Forged Stem, and Carbon Drop Bars and Seat Post

To round out their gravel offerings, KS has added their Ether line of cockpit components, which includes a forged stem, carbon drop bars and a carbon seat post.

The Forged Stem is targeted at gravel and the XC markets. Offered in 70, 90, and 110mm lengths, the 6 degree stem weights in at 85, 91, and 100g respectively. It can be used in either orientation, and works with a 1 1/8″ steerer and 31.8mm bars.

The Either Drop Bar takes some of the same designs that KS uses in their flat bar, and brings them it to gravel. The gravel specific bar includes a small18mm rise, along with an 18 degree flare into the drops. The tops are a bit squared off to fit well in your hands, and ports at the upper bend and just before the stem allow for internal routing through the bar, but not full internal routing.

The bars are available in 42 and 44mm widths, and weight 270 and 275g respectively.

If a dropper post isn’t quite your thing, there is also the Either carbon fiber seat post. This full carbon post is offered in 27.2, 30.9, and 31.6mm sizes, all at 400mm long. Weight comes in at 180, 188, and 190g, respectively to their diameters. It uses a two-bolt design at the clamp to work with both round and oval saddle rails.
