Velocio Adds Race Focused Hydration Pack

Known for their clothing, Velocio has released a new hydration pack for endurance racers and riders. While designed with functionality in mind, the new pack focuses on helping you carry what you need on longer, faster rides, in a very streamlined package.

The new hydration pack is made for fast rides, versus being loaded up with tons of gear. The pack itself is made from strong, yet breathable mesh material to help keep you cool on the hottest of days, with two stretch panels on the side to keep it fitting tight. Instead of one size fits all with all kinds of straps and buckles, Velocio offers the pack in Small/Medium, and Large/Extra Large. The pack uses two small buckles in the front that can be adjusted up or down for a better fit, along with adjusting the width for a custom fit. On the front, there are two small zippered pockets, great for gels, your phone or other small items, with two additional stretch pockets you can slip things into to grab quickly. The pockets are made from the mesh material to help breathability, so make sure any sharp items are covered to not rip the mesh.

On back, pack includes a removable 1.5L HydraPak reservoir (it can fit a 2L) to cover two to three bottles worth of drinks for you. The reservoir hose is routed through loops to guide it to the front, and has a magnetic clasp that keeps it in place on the strap, but still easy for you to grab when you need a sip. The hose can be routed on either side, and the magnetic piece can be mounted at multiple points to find the right spot for you. An additional back pocket made of stretch material allows you to stuff in a jacket, warmers or other small items, and still keep it tight to the body.

One of the nice things about the design of the pack is that it sits higher on your back, allowing you plenty of room to access your back jersey pockets.

The new Velocio Hydration Pack is available now through their site. At $179.99, it fits right in line with similar race packs from brands like Apidura and Restrap. We are hoping to get one in to test out in our early spring gravel events, so look for a review in the future.
